Her family had this to say about Gaye's life, "Dearest Mimi, your unwavering support has been the cornerstone of our journey thus far. You've embodied the spirit of a truly remarkable Mother, Mimi, and friend, and we're forever grateful. As we step forward, your guidance remains etched in our hearts. Your absence will be deeply felt, yet we're comforted by the knowledge that you've entrusted us with the next chapter. Sixty-two incredible years have flown by, and though the past six months have been arduous, your resilience has been an inspiration. Your love for family and all creatures has been a beacon of hope. Through life's triumphs and tribulations, you've stood by us unwaveringly. Though bidding farewell in body is difficult, we draw solace from the promise of a future reunion. Your departure leaves us with mixed emotions – sorrow at your leaving, yet joy in the knowledge that you're free from pain. Know that we love you immeasurably and cherish the memories we've shared. Rest peacefully, knowing we've got this."
