Ms. Betty Gowens, age 70 of Piedmont, passed away on October 28, 2025, at her residence. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, November 8th at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Her family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Survivors include her son, Kevin (Amanda) Gowens; and a host of family and friends.

Ms. Gowens was born in Cherokee County to the late James and Ivy Payne.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gowens; Infant daughter, Angela Gowens; Sisters, Jeannie and Shirley.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help cover the costs of her services.
