Mr. Clinton Crider, age 89 of Centre, passed away Monday May 19, 2025 at Cherokee County Health and Rehab.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM Wednesday May 21, 2025 at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Barry Kerr and Mr. Cory Twilley officiating. Burial will follow in the Nazareth Cemetery with the Cherokee County Volunteer Fire Association Honor Guard presenting full honors. The family will be receiving friends from 11AM until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Ann Crider.
Pallbearers will be members of the McCord’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department.
Clinton was a founding member of the McCord’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department. Also founding the department were Stanley D. Crider, Frank Kiser, Joe Van Kiser, Junior Whorton, Lamar Montgomery, Nathaniel Littlefield, Sambo Highfield, William Conner, Mr. Evan, Charles Rosser, Jr. Rosser, and Doyce Ferguson. He owned and operated Crider’s General Store for over 35 years, a store that became a local icon in the community.
Mr. Crider was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late John William and Clara Anderson Crider. He was preceded in death by his son, Stan D. Crider; Brothers Wesley, Carthel, Peyton, J.D. Crider; Sister, Hettie Crane.
