A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 120 County Road 37, Leesburg, AL 35983.
She is survived by her husband, David A. Maddox; daughter, Brandi Ralene King Stouder (Paul L. Stouder); son, Bradley Ray King (Christy King); step son, Sean Allen Maddox (Tiffany Maddox); grandsons, Brandon and Ryan Stouder, Mark and Jr. Sprayberry, and Bryce Maddox; granddaughters, Delaney Stouder, Jade (Corey) Howell and Brynlee Maddox; and great grandchildren, Bonnie and Niomi Stouder, and Braxdon and Harper Howell.
Mrs. Maddox graduated from Sand Rock High School in 1970. She began her career at Cherokee Electric CoOp, before she moved to Georgia and continued her career at Georgia Power. She was raised in the Hopewell Community and belonged to Hopewell Advent Christian Church which was donated by her great grandparents. She played the piano for the church. Later in life, she became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Pollard's Bend, Alabama. She retired in 2011 after 25 years from Georgia Power. She had a love for her family, friends, and above all, God. Her favorite pass time was cooking for those she loved and cared for immensely. She doted on her grandchildren, and especially her two great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis B. Mackey; mother, Mary L. Hunt Mackey; grandparents; niece; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her family requests that friends and family wear purple, if possible, in honor and memory of her life, as purple was her favorite color.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, Helping Hands, Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, or your choice of associations for lung cancer or disease research.
