Gregory Walden Russell

Mr. Greg Russell, age 64 of Centre, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Atrium Health Floyd in Rome, GA. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Freddy Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Bone Russell; sons, Brandon Russell (Amber), Bryan Russell (Kayla), and Logan McEwen (Sarah); grandchildren, Bryce, Bentley, Addie, Brantley, Ava and Brynlee; step granddaughter, Charlie; great granddaughter, Londyn; aunt, Betty Smith; uncle, Bobby Russell; sister-in-law, Janet Russell; nephew, Todd Russell (Kim); and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be Skylar Ray, Bryce Russell, Kevin Haney, Ryan Law, Drew Pritchett, and Nick Mobley. Honorary pallbearer will be Chris King.

Greg was born September 3, 1961, in Etowah County, AL, to Clarence and Doris Russell. He was a mechanic and owned and operated Russell Small Engine for 22 years. He was a great husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren were his world, he was always involved in any sport or activity they were a part of.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Doris Russell; and brothers, Michael Russell and Larry Russell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Carl Gossett, 6110 County Road 22, Centre, AL 35960.
