Jackwlyn Burkhalter

Mrs. Jackwlyn Carla (Strawn) Burkhalter, age 95 of Centre, passed away Tuesday morning, April 29, 2025, at her residence. She was born October 14, 1929, in Boaz, Al, a daughter of the late Carl and Bertha Strawn.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Burkhalter; daughter, Shara Fortenberry, son-in-law, Clay Myer, brother, Benny Strawn and, sister, Mavorine Stone. ‍She was a member of Believers Fellowship Church, born again believer in Jesus Christ. Jackie was a homemaker and business owner, Merle Norman cosmetics since 1958. She enjoyed oil painting and crafts, spending time with her family, and church. ‍Jackie is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jeff Burkhalter (Nancy), Carl Bennett Burkhalter, and one daughter Kelly Myer; grandchildren, Brooxie Moran, William Bennett, Indy Maddox, Billy Routhier and Rebecca Baggett; great grands, Blair Naquin, Nora Moran, Walker Bennett, William Bennett, Sonny Moran, Sid Maddox, Mckensie Maddox, Eli Baggett, Callie Baggett, and Will Routhier. Jackie loved all her nieces: Jerrianne Tucker, Sanda Haynes, Carla Naugher, Robin Pate, Mandy Anderson, Vicky Payne and the late Cynthia Strawn Snow, and her nephew, Michael Burkhalter. ‍Grave side service will be held 5p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Cherokee Memory Gardens, with Pastor Keith Day, Pastor Chase Lackey, and Pastor Lorie Walker officiating.
