Jerry Lewayne Yates

Mr. Jerry Lewayne Yates, age 56 of Gallant, passed away on June 29, 2026, at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Tabor Church of God with Pastor George Lankford officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.

He is survived by his children, Brittany Holmes (Michael), Andrew Yates, Jase Yates, and Gracen Brown (Yates); grandchildren, Julia, Paige, Katrina, Layla and Harlyn Holmes, Elijah Haney, Aliyah Carroll, Waylon Yates, Tucker Yates and Levi Morris; brother, Jeff Yates; sisters, Ashley Crider (Kris) and Stacie Hartline (Jamey); several nieces and nephews; special friend, John HIll; and special friend and bonus dad, Roger Morgan.

Pallbearers will be Michael Holmes, Cody Campbell, John Hill "Johnny Butler", Bryant West, Brian Bobo, Brandon Whitmire, Michael Smith, and Jase Yates. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Johnson, Chris Frost, Steve West, Roger Morgan, Mickey Guthrie, and Ricky Gladden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Waldo James Yates and Peggy Jan Greenland; and son, William "Bill" Yates.
