Jimmy "Jimbo" McGatha

Mr. Jimmy "Jimbo" McGatha, age 61 of Leesburg, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 5 P.M. Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Ray Haggard officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Community Church Cemetery. His family will be receiving friends from 4 P.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Survivors include his brother, Don (Judy) McGatha; aunt, Martha (Bob) Mouchet; nephews, Shane Barnett, Jeremy McGatha; nieces, Ashley McGatha and Emily McGatha; great nephews, Cody King and Tyler King; great niece, Haley Dover; stepson, Logan (Brandy Fowler) Prater; best friend, Terry Reed; special caregivers, Terry Mackey and Shelia Gilley; several other cousins, great nephews and great nieces also survive.

Pallbearers will be Gary Law, Matthew McGatha, Bruce Vaughn, Ricky Gossett, Tyler King, and Cody King.

Jimbo was born in Gadsden, AL to the late Walter and Maxine McGatha. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn McKissick; brother, Stevie McGatha; and niece, Candy King.
