Joel Coker

Mr. Joel Travis Coker, age 58 of Centre, passed away on August 30, 2025, at Emory St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, September 04, 2025, at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Pollard officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherokee Memory Gardens with Sam Dixon Lodge #218 F&AM conducting Masonic Graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the hour of service at the church.

Joel is survived by his wife Lisa Coker; Stepson, Kaleb (Devyn) Gravett and granddaughter, Bankslee Gravett of Canton, GA; Brother, Richard (Jamie) Coker of Trussville, AL; Two sisters, Joy Coker-Perry (Steve Livingston), Jennifer (David) Morgan, both of Centre; Uncle & Aunt, Davis & Eloise Norris of Collinsville; Several nieces, nephews, as well as several great nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, and his beloved fur babies, Sam & Emma also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Nelda Coker, as well as a sister, Janet Ashburner.

Joel was a 1986 Graduate of CCHS. He was retired from International Paper Co., Coosa GA. Joel was an avid Alabama fan, a devoted member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, and was a Mason in the Sam Dixon Lodge #218.

Pallbearers will be his nephews, Lee Morgan, Jeb Coker, Colin Perry, and friends, Michael Lockridge, BT Law, and Torey Chandler.

Flowers will be accepted (no house plants) or donations in memory of Mr. Coker can be made to: Pine Grove Baptist Church, P.O. Box 7, Centre, AL 35960, OR to the Sam Dixon Lodge #218, P.O. Box 800, Centre, AL 35960.
