Karen Johnson Green

Mrs. Karen “Johnson” Green, age 79 of Centre, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at her son's residence in Social Circle, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM (CST) Saturday, March 1st at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Dale officiating. Entombment will follow in the Cherokee Memory Gardens’ Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM (CST) until the hour of service at the funeral home. 

Survivors include her children, Kelle (Randal) Keller, Donnie (Paige) Stoddard, Sheila (Keith) Nichols, Judy (Doug) Hollandsworth, Douglas L. Green; Grandchildren, Mehgan (Josh) Carroll, Brittany (Ben) Merritt, Kristina (Jared) Blevens, Stephanie (Ben) Schultz, Tyler Stoddard, Michael Bradley, Spencer Bradley, Joshua (Kimberly) Nichols, Mitch (Bethany) Nichols, Kelsey Nichols, Jacob (Caroline) Nichols, Ryan Nichols, Macey Myers, and Bryce Myers; 16 great-grandchildren; Sisters, Rebecca Neal, Sherry Johnson; Several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive.

Her grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Green was a Driver’s License Examiner for the Georgia State Patrol for many years. She was known as an antiquing enthusiast who thoroughly enjoyed shopping. Karen’s favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, a time where she looked forward to baking for her beloved family and friends. She loved the Lord and lived by Psalm 25:1, “In You, Lord my God, I put my trust”.

Karen was the daughter of the late Louis Britt and Lilian J. Johnson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Green, and brother, Buddy Johnson.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Breaking Chains International for restoration of Cherokee Memory Gardens’ Mausoleum. Donations will be accepted by mail at 5015 AL Highway 9 North, Cedar Bluff, AL 35959.
