Mrs. Marean Newsome Pritchett, age 65 of Leesburg, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at her residence.

A celebration of life will be held for the family at a later date in Vidalia, Georgia.

Survivors include her sons, Billy (Ashley) Perry, Ricky (Linda) Perry, Bubba Cannon; Daughter, Sheila (Michael) Gowens; Brothers, Phillip (Wanda) Newsome, Jimmy (Allison) Newsome; Sister, Teresa Majors; Grandchildren, Kaleb (Sydni) Perry, Dylan (Emily) Gowens, Luke Perry, Kimberlee Gowens, Caiden Gowens, Richard (Haley) Perry, Bailey Cannon, Taylor Cannon, Trey (Honesty) Gowens, Hank Cannon, Emily Majors; Numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Marean was born in Lyons, Georgia, to the late Jimmie Lee Newsome and Amalie Schwind Kirkland. She was a homemaker that enjoyed making her own art and spending time with her family. Mrs. Pritchett was a faithful follower of Jesus and is now resting peacefully with the Lord. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Austin Pritchett, and step-father, Theron Kirkland.

The family wishes to extend special thanks and appreciation to their cousin, Gracie Hollan, for staying by Mrs. Pritchett’s side the past 3 years, ensuring that she was well taken care of; Special thanks to ProHealth Hospice employees- Brandy Vance, Katie Hogeland, and Cheyenne Kelley, for their kindness and support during the process of Mrs. Pritchett’s home going.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alabama Cancer Center in memory of Marean.
