Mrs. June Spann Matthews, age 85 of Centre, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at Cherokee County Health and Rehab. 

June was born on October 23, 1940 in Sulligent, Alabama. She is survived by her daughter, Joan-Carol (Rusty) McCombs of Hueytown; Siblings, Joan Spann Williams, Janice Spann (Terry) Haynes and Robert F.Spann (Lynn). 

She was preceded in death by her husband Col. Joe B. Matthews of Columbia Tn. and parents Mary Hilda Thompson and George F. Spann. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
