John "Pat" McCord
March 17, 1935 — August 16, 2025
Mr. John "Pat" McCord, age 90 of Cedar Bluff, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, August 19th, at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Zach Richards officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until the hour of service at 11 AM at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Betty McCord; Children, Diane (Rock) Smith, Jimmy (Karen) McCord, Michael (Amy) McCord, Cheri (Freddie) Grindle, Lori (Kenny) Ayers, Scott Stewart, Caleb (Odessia) Clifton, Madx Clifton, Wendy (Greg) Moon, Stephanie (Todd) Morgan, Ski Malinowski; Sister, Lillian (Jimmy) Curley; Numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grand Children also survive.
Pallbearers include Ronald Keith Prince, Jr., Kenny Ayers, Freddie Grindle, Alex Stewart, Scott Stewart, and Adam Benson.
Mr. McCord was a native of Nashville, TN, the son of the late John and Bernice McCord and was preceded in death by Megan McCord and Kim Long Malinowski. He was a veteran and a former member of the City Council of Cedar Bluff. Pat worked at numerous utility companies and was self-employed for almost 30 years.
