Sarah O'Connor

Mrs. Sarah O'Connor, age 96 of Piedmont, passed away on September 16, 2025, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Thursday, September 18th, at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Davis Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Survivors include her children, Timothy (Rong Fang) O'Connor and Debra (Paul) Zeringue; Grandchildren, Chad Shaw, Christy Singleton, Josh O'Connor, Amber Martin, Karen Dutton, April Ford, Yugian "Ceena" Gan; Ten great-grandchildren; One great-great grandchild; Step-children, Dale O'Connor, Patricia O'Connor, Laverne Stevens, and Lois Jacobs; Sister, Mary Farmer; Brother, Gerald (Janet) Richey. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Pallbearers are Josh O'Connor, Chad Shaw, Blake Singleton, Eric Martin, Gavin Shaw, Chase Shaw, Bailey Martin, Copeland Martin, Paul Zeringue, Dustin Dutton, Ethan Duke, and Austin Lackey.

Mrs. O'Connor was born in St. Clair County, AL to the late Robert and Claudia (King) Richey. At age 14, she became an auto-mechanic working on "A Models". She spent her life dedicated to her family as a homemaker. She operated Sarah's Grocery in addition to taking care of her family. She loved flowers and Alabama Football.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Junious Dale O'Connor, and her children, Katherine Yvonne Jones, Tony Allen O'Connor, Lisa Ann O'Connor, and Robert Shane O'Connor.
