Sharon Gay Rogers

Sharon Gay Rogers, of Centre, Alabama, was born on September 12, 1955, in Zion, Illinois. She passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2026.

Gay married the love of her life, Adrian Hugh Rogers, on May 17, 1975. They shared 51 years of marriage together and built a life centered around their faith and family.

Above all else, Gay loved her family deeply. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her daughter, Brandy Roberts. She loved Brandy's husband, Jeffrey Roberts, as her own and always referred to him simply as her son.

Her grandsons, Jacob and Joshua Roberts, were two of the greatest joys of her life. She loved them with all her heart. Jacob was "her sunshine," and Joshua was "the star of her eyes." She loved spending time with them, watching them grow, and making memories with them.

Gay enjoyed the simple things in life, especially when she could share them with her family. She loved family trips to the beach, watching the sunrise and sunset, riding go-karts, and playing games with her grandkids. At home, she enjoyed the flowers in her garden and had a special love for butterflies.

Most importantly, Gay loved Jesus. She instilled that love in her family and encouraged them to use their talents for the Lord. Her family played instruments and sang together in church, and Gay led many Vacation Bible Schools over the years. Before she became disabled, she was always working for the Lord. The faith she passed on to her family will continue for generations to come.

Gay is survived by her husband, Adrian Hugh Rogers; her daughter, Brandy Roberts; her son, Jeffrey Roberts; her grandsons, Jacob and Joshua Roberts; and her sisters, Darlene (Gerald) Graham, Lucy (Chuck) Howell, and Lisa Hutcheson. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Jeff Rogers, who held a special place in her heart, and a dear family friend, Michael Babb, whom she thought the world of.

Gay was the daughter of the late Fred and Kathryn Hutcheson. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Renee Garrett, and her brothers, Fred Hutcheson, Jr. and Waylon Hutcheson.

At Mrs. Rogers' request, her immediate family will hold a private graveside service.

Gay was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Her family will always treasure the love she gave them, the faith she shared with them, and the many memories they made together. She will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
