Steve L Umphrey

Mr. Steve Lee "Toodles" Umphrey, age 70 of Leesburg, passed away on February 2, 2026, at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center in Centre, AL. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

He is survived by his sister, Lucille Dodd; and his brother, Randy Umphrey; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Umphrey was a native of Cherokee County. He loved his Alabama Football on Saturdays. He loved to be outside watching the kids play and everyone work on the yard.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Rebecca Neighbors Umphrey; father, Arvile Umphrey; brothers, James Umphrey and Euguene Umphrey; sister, Shirley McGatha; and niece, Loretta Umphrey (Stallings).

Pallbearers will be David Dodd, Connor Abernathy, Lucas Abernathy, Joseph Christopher, Dewayne Wright and Grayson Blevins.
