Mr. Winford Lee Rainey, age 62 of the Flatwoods Community in Centre, passed away Wednesday October 30, 2024 at Advent Health Redmond in Rome, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM CST at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Rainey and Rev. Josh Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Providence Cemetery on Hwy 411 North. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday from 11 Am until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Survivors include daughter, Amie Henderson; Son, Bradley (Sonya) Robinson; Grandchildren, Kagan and Kadie Henderson, Branson and Baylen Robinson, Caleb Pruitt, Selena and Dakota Black; Brothers, Ollie (Judy) Rainey and Dan Rainey; Sisters, Ginger (Chris) Cowley and Darlene (Kenneth) Boles; Brothers-in-laws, Tim (Cindy) Deaton and Wade (Deborah) Deaton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Rainey was a native of Centre, AL the son of the late W.A. and Annie Ruth Rainey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pam Deaton Rainey. Mr. Rainey was an avid outdoorsman, no matter hunting or fishing or riding all-terrain vehicles, his passion was the outdoors. Winford’s other great passion in life were his grandchildren and he would tell anyone he met how proud he was of all of them and their accomplishments. He also loved the Alabama Crimson Tide football program.
Pallbearers include Kagan Henderson, Whitt Walker, Jaden Deboard, Bryson Deboard, Jayson Lolies, Jimmy Rhinehart, and Logan Walker.
Honorary Pallbearers include Wade Deaton and Tim Deaton.
